Student prize

The fifth GQT student prize will be awarded at a cluster meeting to be held in December 2011 or January/February 2012.

To be able to compete for this prize you must fulfill the following conditions:
1) the subject of your MSc-thesis is in a field related to Geometry and Quantum Theory;
2) you are nominated by a mathematician or a physicist affiliated to a Dutch university or research institute;
3) your M.Sc.-thesis was written between August 1, 2010 and October 1, 2011.

Nominations can be sent to j.m.arthur@uu.nl where, to complete the entry, a pdf of the M.Sc. thesis must be sent together with a statement that it is for the purpose of the GQT-student prize.
The deadline for nominations for the first GQT-student prize is November 1, 2011. The name of the winner will be announced on www.gqt.nl where the winning MSc-thesis will also be published.
The Board of GQT awards the prize on the advice of a jury. The jury takes into consideration the presentation of the thesis and the scientific depth, insight and creativity. The jury can ask external referees for advice.
